Hot green and flood lilies

2010

"Collection-Connection" Page 51

Driving north, Christmas 2010. It’s been raining for weeks - the land is saturated, creeks and culverts are overflowing, the cattle in the paddocks are belly high in feed and everywhere are lilies (Crinum flaccidum). How things have changed since then! Jock’s poem puts a nice twist on the ups and downs of life on the land.
