Pandanus botanics

Pandanus fruits make a colourful mosaic in the creek bed while their fronds subdivide the landscape into interesting sectors.  Pandanus was an important food source, hence local tribal names are also included.

Two things are responsible for botanical names making their way into my paintings - a love of languages and  Myall Park Botanic Garden, where I do voluntary work.

1999
