Earth Mother

The basis for this painting was an oil pastel sketch of granite rocks and trees. Torn in half and re-aligned, it suggested a female form and became Earth Mother. The text reads "In the beginning was the word". The ancient runes have always interested me both for their seer-like prophecies and their archetypal shapes.
