SURAT MEMORIAL PARK PROJECT

Below is the series of mini murals painted on 30cm diameter

circles of toughened glass. These have been inserted into a hebel stone

wall created by sculptor Graham Girle, and are accompanied by leadlight

panels representing the eternal flame and the river - created by

glass workers Norman Birrell and Dermot Clifford.

Themes for the project include remembrance, heritage and environment.

The real challenge for me was painting on glass - necessitating

working in a completely reversed order, foreground first, background last.

Without any experience in this mode, there were quite a few false starts!
